Customer Reviews in Lewiston
This company is AWESOME!I called because of a clogged pedestal sink in my bathroom. They were able to schedule an appointment to come out that same day between ... 2 and 4:00. Kelly arrived at 2:05, and was able to disassemble the drain, clear the clog and reassemble the drain in about 15 minutes. He was so courteous and so polite and professional. Since he had "extra time" he also snaked my tub and probably saved me another service call again in the near future. He was super careful and cleaned up his "mess" before he left! He also pointed out that there was a $25 off coupon in the phone book which I was able to apply to my bill. Very satisfied with this company. I will use them for all my plumbing needs and tell everyone I know to do the same. This company is the best and worth every dime.
We had Lee out to clean our drains and scope the lines for leak detection- He made it a point to explain and communicate. I will request him for ... future service! I hope all your people are as professional as Lee.
I'd just like to say that I received the most helpful, professional service I've ever received from the plumbing industry during the sewer cleaning job completed today by Kelly Renfrow ... out of the Lewiston Roto-Rooter. He was on time, explained what he was doing, answered my questions, offered helpful advice, and fixed the problem wonderfully. It was a pleasure to have him work on my plumbing, and I feel extremely confident that I received the best work and service possible. Great job, Kelly -- thanks so much!
Homeowners in Lewiston, ID deal with the same plumbing failures that affect houses everywhere - slow drains, leaky pipes, water heaters losing efficiency, and sewer lines that back up without warning. Understanding what causes these problems helps you act before minor issues become major repairs.
Drain Clogs and Backups
Kitchen drains fail gradually. Cooking grease poured down the sink cools and solidifies on the pipe wall, and each subsequent use adds another layer until flow slows to a trickle. Bathroom drains clog faster - hair binds with soap scum just past the P-trap and creates a dense blockage that a plunger rarely clears completely. When multiple fixtures back up at once, the blockage is almost always in the main sewer line rather than at any individual drain.
Hidden Leaks
Pipe leaks behind walls and under slabs can go undetected for weeks. A slow drip at a fitting or a pinhole in a supply line may not show visible water, but it raises the water bill and softens drywall or subfloor material over time. Roto-Rooter technicians use moisture meters and visual inspection to trace leaks to their source without unnecessary demolition.
Water Heater Problems
A rumbling or popping noise from the water heater tank usually means sediment has accumulated on the heating element or tank bottom. That sediment layer forces the heater to work harder, shortens its lifespan, and reduces the volume of hot water available. A failing anode rod accelerates internal corrosion once it can no longer protect the tank wall.
Mechanical Drain Clearing
The Roto-Rooter Machine uses a rotating cable to cut through blockages that accumulate deep in drain lines - grease buildup, hair masses, and even tree roots that have grown into the joints of older sewer laterals. Roots enter through hairline cracks at pipe joints and expand as they absorb moisture, eventually causing recurring backups that worsen with each season. A cable auger reaches the obstruction; hydro jetting removes what the cable leaves behind.
Hydro Jetting
High-pressure water jets scour the interior pipe wall rather than simply punching a hole through a clog. Hydro jetting removes calcified grease, mineral scale, and root debris that a cable auger cannot fully extract. The result is a pipe that drains at full capacity rather than one that re-clogs within weeks.
Camera Inspection
A sewer camera travels the length of the drain line and transmits a live image of conditions inside. It reveals whether a recurring backup comes from roots, a collapsed pipe section, or a belly - a low spot where solids collect. That information determines the right repair, not just the right clearing method.
Pipe and Fixture Repair
Galvanized steel pipes corrode from the inside and restrict water flow as they age, producing low pressure and discolored water. Replacing galvanized sections with copper or PEX restores full flow. At the fixture level, a running toilet typically needs a new flapper or fill valve - components that wear out independently of the rest of the plumbing system. Roto-Rooter handles repairs at every point in the system, from the main line to the individual fixture connection.
