Drying a Slab Floor Without Tearing It Out
The instinct after a slab loss is to pull the flooring, and sometimes that is right. It is not always right. Water trapped between a floating floor and the concrete can be drawn out with drying mats or an injection system that moves air through the cavity itself, and small weep holes low on a wall let air reach the bottom plate without opening the whole wall. What decides between saving the floor and removing it is the water category, how long it sat, and what the meter says under the middle of the room.
Fog Season Changes the Drying Plan
For most of the year the air outside a Bakersfield building is drier than the air inside a wet one, which means an open approach that brings that dry air through the structure does real work on its own.
